Generally, our watches gets scratched and most of our cash is wasted on buying a new glass and getting it replaced by a professional but I would like to tell you that scratches from a watch glass can be easily removed without hiring any professional or any trouble. There are many methods to remove scratches from a watch glass but I would tell you the best and the cheapest one. It is easy so you can do it yourself and save some cash. Make it clear that there is no side effect or any bad effect of this method. Although it is a must for you to be careful while doing certain things.

To remove scratches, you will need certain things like – a piece of cotton and a paste called “Simichrome” (you can easily get it from any Harley-Davidson dealer).

First of all release your old glass from the watch. Then wash it with water and rub with a piece of cotton to remove any dust particles. If you can see through it clearly, then it means that it was not scratched and dust was the main problem. If not, then continue reading and perform these steps.

Take a little bit of Simichrome and apply it on the scratches (use it on both the sides and in many cases, there are scratches of both the sides. Then use cotton plug and rub it against the glass gently. Be careful while doing this as you may introduce more scratches. After that, let it dry and you will see that the scratches are gone or at least they are reduced and you are able to see through it.

While replacing, make it sure that your hands are clean and no dust particle is present as it may stick to the glass and you will need to wash it again which may introduce more scratches.
